U.S. Bellows, Inc. fabricated this 28″ dia., 109″ long universal expansion joint with 1″ thick AA-22 abrasion resistant refractory lining and pantographic linkage for a FCC unit in an oil refinery. The entire assembly is fabricated from 304H stainless steel with carbon steel pantographs. This expansion joint has two-ply testable bellows with wire mesh strip between the plies. It is designed for an axial movement of 5″, a lateral movement of 5-1/2″ at 1425°F and 45 psig. This unit was 100% dye penetrant tested, all pressure retaining welds were 100% radiographed and the unit was pneumatic tested prior to shipping to Oklahoma.

The in-line pressure balanced expansion joints were manufactured for a clean fuels project in India. They are fabricated with Inconel 625 LCF bellows and ASTM A516 GR 70 carbon steel was used for the shell. The inside is lined with insulating and abrasion resistant refractory. The expansion joints were pressure tested with air at 15 PSIG prior to shipment.
This 36’-0″ long refractory lined tied universal expansion joint weighs 54,000 lb. and has two-ply Inconel® 625 LCF bellows, tie rods, slotted hinges, insulation bags and liner seals. It is designed to operate at 58 PSIG and temperatures up to 1,450° F. The expansion joint was preset for 6” lateral travel and is capable of lateral travel up to 13”.
U.S. Bellows, Inc. designed and fabricated this refractory lined universal expansion joint for an FFC unit in India. This is a 70″, outside diameter, tied refractory-lined universal expansion joint with two-ply Inconel® 625 LCF bellows, A516 weld ends and spool, and a 4″ thick refractory lining per UOP specifications. This joint was designed at 51 PSIG and 1400 degrees F. Bellows long seam welds were 100% x-rayed and 100% dye-penetrant before and after forming. It was also pneumatic tested at 57 PSIG. The refractory lining was dried out per UOP specifications.
U.S. Bellows, Inc., the expansion joint division of Piping Technology & Products, Inc., specially designed and fabricated a 44-inch, O.D Universal, refractory lined expansion joint for a chemical plant in Venezuela.>The expansion joint was designed for 100 psig at 1,000° F and fabricated with 321 SS two-ply tested bellows, A-387 GR11 weld ends, 14 Ga. 304 SS, Hexmesh anchoring system and Resco 17 EMC refractory. The expansion joint was also designed and fabricated per B31.3 and EJMA Standards.
